NA group meetings

Narcotics Anonymous (NA) is a global, community-based organization offering a recovery program for individuals struggling with drug addiction. Following a 12-step model, NA provides a supportive environment where members share experiences and aid each other in maintaining sobriety. The People's Church supports NA as part of our commitment to holistic healing and social justice. Our focus on inclusivity, community care, and empowering individuals aligns with NA's mission, making it a natural extension of our ministry to support those seeking recovery and wellness in all aspects of life.

FRIDAY 7PM

Steadfast Support Through Crisis: Our Mission Continues

In the toughest times of COVID-19, The People's Church stood resilient in the epicenter, unwavering in our commitment to the community. We provided crucial support to over 2,000 individuals daily, addressing not just physical, but mental, economic, and racial challenges.

Today, the need persists. Our vital food pantry service, a lifeline for many, had to pause due to funding challenges. But we're determined to bring it back stronger in 2024. Be part of reigniting this essential program in El Barrio – your support can make a significant difference in continuing our mission of care and compassion.

Culture as Resistance at The People's Church

History teaches us that oppressors often try to dominate by erasing our culture, music, art, and sense of belonging. At The People's Church, we stand strong in preserving the vibrant traditions and culture of El Barrio. We resist by telling our stories, celebrating our unbreakable joy, and reimagining a world of equality and freedom. Join us in this powerful act of cultural preservation and resistance.

HEALING

HEALING

At The People's Church, we embrace a holistic approach to healing, aligning with the promise of comprehensive salvation. Our belief is that healing comes in many forms - through worship, service, meditation, and addressing trauma. Our dedicated Holistic Healing Ministry, in partnership with Proyecto Salud y Acupuntura Para El Pueblo, offers transformative treatments like auricular acupuncture to help with health issues, addictions, stress, and trauma.

We're also proud to collaborate with a Queer POC organization to provide reiki and energy healing services. These partnerships enrich our offerings, ensuring a wide range of healing options for our community. Join us in this journey of holistic well-being, where every aspect of your health and spirit is nurtured.

Empower Through Knowledge: Our Political Education Ministry

At The People's Church, we embody a faith that combines prayer with political action. Aligning with our United Methodist roots, we view justice advocacy as a vital spiritual practice. Through partnerships with The Justice Center En El Barrio and NYCPSL, we offer crucial political education in East Harlem and New York City. Join us in a journey where spirituality meets social and political engagement, true to the Gospel's call.
